Art Deco

Fueled by several movements like Italian Futurism, Cubism and Constructivism, Art Deco was the beginning of what we know today as the modern style.

Similar to contemporary with sleek lines; but having more geometric form.

Colored accents are bold and bright like lime green, orange and fuchsia. Black and white checked patterns are popular tile colors for baths and kitchens.

Popular furniture styles were Bakelite plastic finished with metal accents. That finish is often recreated today with a high gloss paint and lacquer finish.

Furniture can usually be found to have overstated rounded cushions covered in neutral leathers, suede and chenille.

Decorations and accents use lots of metals, glass and mirrors.
